We got up early Saturday morning and had been instructed to be ready to leave by 7:30. So, I decided that if I got to eat ok, if I didn’t, that was ok as long as I drank 20 cups of coffee (which I did). I got ready, looked pretty rough and did eat a bit and we left. As we drove up, I’m not sure what I anticipated. We ran in again, but didn’t get front row seats, but that was ok. The main thing I remember about the second session was a time where the drama got up and said the words along with us said the words “remember” over and over, followed by the things that we all need to remember. Our life, our sin, His death, our FREEDOM. At some point you could hear nails and see drops of blood on the scream. BANG. BANG. BANG. With every time the hammer hit, I could see me in the background committing sin, and ignoring Him watching me. BANG. BANG. BANG. The sin most prevalent in my mind was gossip. It was as if I was sitting there whispering, saying things I would blanket as “prayer requests”, see Him watching me out of the corner of my eye, but continuing. BANG. BANG. BANG. I, like the night before, out of nowhere began to weep, as did people around me. I’m not sure who. Like the night before, I could hear Oscar singing as loud as humanly possible, and sobbing.

You know I really don’t take my sin too seriously. Do you??? I mean God’s forgiven me. I mean yea, he was totally innocent, and had to be punished for me, and it was torment and Hell and rejection by God, but I mean is he gonna keep hanging this over my head??? Is that how you feel today??? It’s so backwards. So wrong. God doesn’t want you to feel shame over your past. That is once, we’ve repented. Guilt when it’s for convicting us to change is a good thing, but guilt for what you’ve been forgiven for already-that’s not for God. God just wants you to praise him for what he did for you and me, it’s Satan who turns your head to what you did in your past and says “God is so ashamed.”

My sin put Jesus on the tree. And yours did too. But that’s why I’m so thankful he was willing to go. Now we run towards an eternal security, that can not be taken away. Praise God! But don’t forget what he did. Don’t take for granted that we don’t have to go to extreme links to even approach God. We don’t have to because he did.
Oh God thank you. I am ready to see you God.
